Perfect Little Getaway

The Red Jacket Inn Resorts, Mountain View, hosted our stay. However as always, my opinions are MY OWN.

North Conway, New Hampshire is about a 3 – 3 1/2 hour car ride for us. Which is perfect for a family getaway.  The Red Jacket Inn has been a favorite resort for us for the last ten years or so.  The resort is extremely family friendly and has so many great things for the kids.  The resort has received many awards in the hospitality industry.

Here are the top -6- reasons why The Red Jacket Inn is our favorite spot in the White Mountains.

1) The View!

A panoramic view of the breathtaking White Mountians. You can catch the sun setting just beyond this gorgeous backdrop.  It so peaceful and relaxing. img_4365

2) The Staff!

We have had great experiences with everyone that works here.  From the front desk, the restaurant, and pool areas, everyone greets you with a smile and is very friendly.

3) Fun For The Kids!

Red Jacket has so many fun, FREE, things planned for the families that stay here.  We enjoyed a horse drawn carriage ride.  Two gorgeous horses pulling a red carriage, walk you through the property of  the Red Jacket.  We also enjoyed story time, Popsicles by the pool, Smores by the campfire, and the arcade.  At night they also have a family movie playing outside, under the stars on a big screen, right beside the playground.  Every day there is a list of activities that are going on hour to hour.  It changes daily so be sure to check out the sign by the front desk.

4) Indoor Water Park and Outdoor Pool!

The Red Jacket Inn is known for it’s big indoor water park, Kahuna Laguna.  This is so much fun for the kids (parents too).  The temperature is perfect and it is super clean.  You might have caught a FB status I put out there a couple of weeks ago… “I SKEEVE public water areas!”  Well that is true!  You will not find me with even one toe in any public swimming areas if I have any doubt if it is clean or not.  Both swimming areas at Red Jacket Inn are “Beth Approved”, crystal clear water, no funky smells, and a limited number of people swimming at one time.

I will say I LOVE the outdoor pool.  I love being outside, soaking up the sun, fresh air, and

the amazing view.  One of my favorite parts is having the indoor or outdoor bartender whip me up a delicious frozen drink.

5) Sister Resort – Fox Ridge!

When you stay at Red Jacket, you also have access to their sister resort, Fox Ridge.  Fox Ridge is just about next door to the Red Jacket.  So if you get bored (I don’t think you ever would) or just wanted to check out the other resort, you are more than welcome to.  They have indoor and outdoor pools, a nine hole mini golf course and a restaurant.

6) Area Attractions & Shopping!

There is plenty to do around the area.  You can visit places like, Story Land, Santa’s Village, Mt. Washington and Clark’s Trading Post.  There are many beautiful areas for hiking, swimming, and mountain climbing.  The North Conway Railway is one of our favorites as well.  A beautiful scenic train ride through North Conway, so beautiful!  Shopping is AMAZING here.  There are tons of outlet stores, like Nike, New Balance, Eddie Bauer, Carters, Gymboree, Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, and many, many more.  Plus many family owned small shops where many treasures can be found.

I am very much looking forward to staying at one (or all) of their 6 locations on Cape Cod.  The Cape is a beautiful spot, and less than two hours away from our house!

Summer is a wonderful time to visit, but just because summer is over, don’t think for one second fall and winter aren’t great times to visit as well.  In the fall, the foliage is AMAZING up north.  You can still enjoy the beautiful weather, crisp air, and the gorgeous sites all around you.  The winter is a dream for skiers.  Not only are you in the heart of the best ski resorts the northeast has to offer, but the Red Jacket does something special too.  Check this out:

So what are you waiting for?  Go check out Red Jacket Inn and start booking your family’s next getaway!
