Chicken Cacciatore Slow Cooker Recipe
I wanted to share another one of my easiest recipes. Chicken Cacciatore in the Ninja cooking system. One that my husband and boys love.
As always it is simple to make and very few ingredients because that’s how I roll.
Ingredients — Chicken Cacciatore:
6 chicken thighs & 6 chicken legs (I use dark meat because it stays really juicy, but you can substitute white meat)
4 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
2 large onions
3 Large Green Peppers
1 container of White Mushrooms Sliced
4 cloves of garlic
3 Cans of Tuttorosso Crushed/Diced Tomatoes
Steps For Preparing and Cooking The Chicken Cacciatore:
Chop peppers and onions into chunks
Clean chicken and set aside
Add olive oil to pan and set temperature to med-high on stove top.
Sear chicken pieces on each side, Taking about 8 minutes each side – Then add chicken to your Ninja Cooking System (or other slow cooker).
Add mushrooms to the same frying pan, brown, then add minced garlic. Then add mushrooms and garlic over the chicken.
Add peppers and onions to slow cooker as well, then cover with the tomato sauce.
Cook on the slow function for 7-8 hours, if you are short on time, cook on the high function for 4 hours.
The smell that fills the house while it’s cooking is amazing.
I made rice pilaf as a side, however mashed or oven roasted potatoes would go well with it too. We had plenty for leftover too, which actually taste great the next day.
